Camtrust is a Cambridge-based charity, specialising in lifelong learning for adults with disabilities and learning difficulties.
It also provides work experience within the local community and through its design and print social enterprise.
Our aim is to encourage independence, social interaction, build the students' confidence and well-being in an inclusive and supportive environment.

- Steve's Cycle [July 2015]
Steve's London to Cambridge bike ride has been completed (in rather wet conditions) Donations so far raised over £800 towards Camtrust and Breast Cancer Research. - Camtrust to be Histon FC's Nominated Charity for 2015-16 Season [July 2015]
Camtrust is delighted to announce a new partnership with Histon FC. We will be the club’s nominated charity for 2015-16.
Histon FC will work with Camtrust on a number of projects over the coming year, assisting with our fundraising events and raising awareness of our work whilst helping to raise cash at matches and other club events.
Histon FC Director John Hall said “We’re delighted to be able to partner with Camtrust in this way and look forward to working with them. Hopefully we can help to raise awareness of the great work that they do and raise them some well deserved cash as well.”
- 5th Pop-Up Sale [June 2015]
Our 5th Pop-Up sale is coming up! On Tuesday 16th June 11am - 2:30pm at Histon Methodist Church Hall. Do pop down and have a look, there will be the usual coffee and cakes and plenty of bargains!
- Histon Hornets Donation [May 2015]
A big thank you to the Histon Hornets for their very generous donation of £517.90! They raised the money by hosting a charity footbal match between all of the coaches! It means a lot that the local community are supporting Camtrust.

- Sponsored Cycle Ride [May 2015]

- Aviva Community Fund [May 2015]
I know you were all wonderful and voted for Camtrust in the Cambridge Building Society ‘Cash for Community Challenge’ – helping us getting an amazing £477 – so thank you. - Fourth Pop Up Sale [May 2015]
Camtrust is holding it's fourth Pop-Up Sale! On Tuesday 19th May from 11am to 2.30pm. Do come and have a browse, cup of coffee and a piece of cake. We will have plants from Darwin again plus lots of interesting books, CDs, jigsaw puzzles, children's toys and household goods, etc. Look forward to seeing you!

- Trike for Sale [April 2015]

- Cash for the Community Awards [April 2015]
On Monday night, we went to Emmanuel College to collect our cheque along with 14 other charities. We were delighted and amazed to have recieved £477! A huge thank you to everyone who helped us achieve this by voting and collecting the tokens and thank you to Cambridge Building Society.
- Easter Update [March 2015]
Just a reminder: The last day for collecting tokens for cash for the community is this Saturday 4th April. Please take them to your local Cambridge Building Society branch by Tuesday 7th April latest. They have to be in an envelope clearly marked with our name and the quantity, thank you. Happy Easter to all our friends and supporters! We are shut next week but back on Monday 13th April.
- A Visit from the Mayor [March 2015]
Gerri Bird came to see us at Camtrust on Tuesday 24th, the students got the chance to ask her lots of questions, so that they could write a report for the next issue of CamtrustNews. We hope she enjoyed her visit!
- Cash for the Community [February 2015]
Thank you everyone - good news! Camtrust has been put through to the final 15 to receive a share of £10,000! But it's not over yet. We still need your help! Starting from the 9th of March, there will be Cash for the Community tokens in the Cambridge News every day up until the 4th of April. These tokens need to be bagged up and labeled with our charity name and handed in to any Cambridge Building Society Branch or sent straight to us at Camtrust! Camtrust is holding it's second Pop-up Sale on Tuesday 10th March, the last one was a great success. Our students enjoyed serving you and we hope you will support us again and tell your friends all about it! We have lots of new bargains and there will be the plants from Darwin too.

- Magazine Project [November 2014]
The students have produced their first edition of 'Camtrust News' (see on left to download), it is an exciting new project is harnessing all their communication and IT skills.
- The Open Day has happened! [November 2014]
Camtrust's Open Day was a great success, people came in a continuous stream from 10.30 am to 6.30 pm. It was nice to see a mix of old friends and new faces. Thanks to Steve and his Cam Cooks for the lovely cakes, and to John and Rosemary for the foot tapping music.

- Waitrose [October 2014]
Following on from being chosen as one of Waitrose's charities of the month in August, we have now recieved a cheque for £270 from the company. Many thanks for this donation which is going towards purchasing equipment for our new training kitchen.
- South Cambridgeshire District Council Disability Day [October 2014]
Camtrust will have a stand (no.7) at the above event taking place in the Council Chambers at SCDC in Cambourne on Friday 31st October 10am-4pm. Please come and visit us!
- New Student Programme [October 2014]
Camtrust's dynamic new programme of activities focussing on independent living and work skills is now well underway with our new cohort of students settled and working hard, as well as thoroughly enjoying themselves.
We are also enjoying helping out at Histon Methodist Church café on a Wednesday as part of our independent work skills' programme.

- New Kitchen [October 2014]
With our brand new kitchen up and running, as you can see from the gallery of photos, we are full-on with safe food preparation, handling and cooking.
Great fun was had participating in the 'perfect' Boiled Egg Challenge -stiff competition, strict judging and ultimately a well deserved winner - Neil - Well done!

- Donations - thank you! [August 2014]
Over the last month we have received donations from local Cambridge churches as well as the Forbes Charitable Foundation (£2,000 towards the kitchen refurbishment) and local company GE Energy Management in Histon. GE have very kindly donated to Camtrust the proceeds from their annual 5-a-side charity football tournament. Many thanks to all concerned. We are always extremely grateful for these contributions to the work of the charity.
- New kitchen at Camtrust [July 2014]
Camtrust is having a new kitchen fitted in August. It will feature lowered worktops and will be fully accessible, even for those in a wheelchair. We are looking forward to it as it will enable us to offer cookery based activities at Camtrust, in a dedicated environment.

- Camtrust wins Best Decorated Stall at Ely's Aquafest [July 2014]
Our students have worked very hard to plan and design the Tour de France themed decorations for our stall at Ely's Aquafest. Their efforts have been rewarded by winning Best Decorated Stall on the 6th of July. We have been present with a Camtrust stall also at Histon Feast, Arbury Carnival and Chesterton Festival this summer. We would like to thank all the people that have supported us during these events but also those that have stopped for a chat and to enquire about our charitable work. Thank you!
- 100% Success at Camtrust [July 2014]
Another great year here at Camtrust with all of our students achieving the qualification they were studying for. A heartfelt thank you to all the staff for supporting the students during the academic year, and congratulations to our students for all their hard work!
- Camtrust students get a clean bill of health [June 2014]
In June we had a visit from a local GP who brought with her much of the equipment that she uses on a daily basis in her surgery. The students, therefore, were able to listen to each other's heart beats, take each other's temperatures, blood pressure, test their reflexes and, with thanks to some intrepid volunteers, even urine was checked. The students turned out to be quite a healthy lot!
